Sunday in Style

This morning I woke up and headed off to Saddleback Church but I wasn't on my way in just any old car . . . I traveled in style.

Yes, that is a BMW convertible . . oh yeah!!

Bells and whistles :)  It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to start the car!!

I made it to Saddleback in good time, and a little frozen as it was a chilly morning, but I was bound and determined to have that top down!!!!

Saddle back is HUGE!!!  There are three services going on at the same time.  One is a 'rock' worship style, one is outside, and the other is the traditional contemporary (oxymoron :) ) Saddleback service.  I chose to go to that one.  I didn't hear or even see Rick Warren, but his wife, Kay, who has battled breast cancer did the sermon.  It was good.  Saddleback wasn't exactly what I thought it would be though.  I did walk away with three free Dave Ramsey books on leadership, so if anyone wants one... . . it's yours!! :)

By the time I headed back, it was much warmer and having the top down was everything I had hoped it would be :)

Once I got back to Santa Monica, I hailed a cab to Fitness Ridge.  I got there just in time, right before dinner!  The dinner was DELICIOUS!!  And of course, nutritious and low calorie!  It was a large tamale and chocolate pie for dessert which utilized Greek yogurt and grapenuts! So good!

After dinner we had an introduction to the facilities and the schedule and we each got to introduce ourselves.  I'm the only one from PA believe it or not! The closest people to PA are two from DC.

I would say that there are about 60 people here, and probably about half have been here for a week or more already.  There are all shapes and sizes, all ages, and all levels of fitness.  I'm really excited to see what this week holds and completely ready!!  (I think!!)

As far as the resort itself, I feel like I'm at camp.  My room is a log cabin.

But the view coming up here was ABSOLUTELY beautiful!!  We're in the Santa Monica Mountains and I'm sure on our hike tomorrow we'll get a great view of the ocean -- I can't wait!!  I didn't get any other pictures of the resort tonight, but I promise I will tomorrow!!  But for now, I should probably head to bed seeing as I have to be up at 5:30 for my first class before breakfast!!  More to come tomorrow!!!
