So first an outside picture of my 'cabin' . . . I can't seem to find time to get pictures of the rest of the facility, but when I do, I will upload them!!!
Next . . . the day . . . . it started at 6 am with morning stretch. Then we had breakfast -- another amazing meal. I'm hoping to bring home one of the recipe books of all of the foods we had . . so far, no disappointments. :)
Then we went on our first hike. We go on a 2 and 1/2 hour hike every morning here. Honestly, it was the hardest part of the day!! Today's hike the guides assessed us so they can put us in groups for the rest of the week based on our pace. I didn't think I was doing too bad, but I seemed to be towards the end of the pack -- I think it's my short, stubby legs . . . they just can't take big strides!! Our guides warned us that today's hike wasn't going to be as impressive landscape-wise as some of our other ones . . but here are some pictures from it.

So we returned after roughly a 7 mile hike and after I burned 1300 calories (more than I am eating today, mind you!) we returned back for a class in the pool. Next was lunch -- talapia fish tacos -- very yummy. We had our first educational class about budgeting calories -- calories in versus calories out. Then the afternoon -- I think this is where my soreness really kicked in . . I was dragging. The 'stayovers' (as they call the people who are here for more than one week) told us that they were falling asleep during lunch and dinner the first day, and I remember thinking, 'Oh, I'll be fine . . . I won't be that tired. Boy was I wrong!! I was so tired during lunch!
The first afternoon class was another water class which wasn't bad. But boy, when we hit the gym for a circuit class, it was tough!!! Then we went on to a core (abdominal) class which was just as rough!! Finally it was time for my massage which was heavenly!! After that dinner (chicken over sweet potato puree with asparagus) and dessert (lemon sorbet with fruit) which was also very good. Then we had our second educational class on making good food choices.
And that brings us to now. And man . . . I'm ready to GO TO BED!!! So, not much introspection today -- sorry, maybe later in the week! But thanks for joining this journey with me!!

Hey Cyndi! Glad to hear everything is going well and that you're doing great :) Ryan and I have been praying each night for you this week!! I read this today, it made me think of you and so I wanted to share it with you
ReplyDeletePsalm 73:25 & 26: Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desires besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
I'm sure you're tired, but nonetheless, I'm sure you're kicking some butt in the program...keep it up!!!! :)
