#2 (A Day in LA)
So after my journey in the morning, I attempted to find breakfast, and you know what?? I have figured out why Californians are healthy --- because there isn't a food stand or fast food restaurant on every corner!! It took me forever to find a place and once I finally did, I had to run back to the hotel to get ready for the second part of my day.
The RASTA bus!!!

| The bus we traveled around LA in for our tour |
It was so much fun. Our guide, Jake, but a personal twist on it and I really felt like we had the insiders tour of LA. He definitely had an interest in celebrity mishaps, so I now can say I've seen where Mel Gibson had his meltdown in Malibu, where Lindsey Lohan crashed her car (there are actually a few of those), where Hugh Grant picked up the stripper :) I shared the bus with a family from Atlanta in visiting their son who lives in LA, an Australian couple who were kind enough to invite me to eat lunch with them, and a family from England. We had a great dynamic, it was a lot of fun!
Our first stop was the Malibu pier......I thought this photo was ironic . . .
Hmm . . then why is there a place to rest your fishing pole right next to it?
Then we traveled to Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood to see some of the stars homes. To be honest there wasn't much to see (which is completely understandable). Here were some of the standouts.
| Where we spent most of our day -- it's a long road!! |
| Whoopi Goldberg |
| Bill Cosby |
| Adam Sandler -- which our guide told us he bought the house next door, tore it down and built a playground for her kids! He also said Adam hands out his own candy and poses for pictures on Halloween! |
| The Beverly Hills Hotel -- home to Howard Hughes whom our tour guide informed us was a little 'off'. He used to make the staff hide his lunch somewhere on the grounds and if he didn't find it, he didn't eat anything but vanilla ice cream all day long! Welcome to Hollywood! |
Next stop . . . . .
I so wanted to walk into one of the stores and say, "Big mistake, big mistake, huge!!" :) Ahh -- Gotta love Pretty Woman!
| Check out this car! The Bugatti -- the most expensive car. |
And sticking with Pretty Woman . . .as Kat would say . . . the Reg Bev Wilsh
We then stopped at the Farmers Market for lunch -- yummy . . .so many choices, so little time!
And . . . . . drum roll please . . . .
Ahhhh ., ., beautiful!! Our tour guide told us that over the years it has been tampered with for various practical jokes -- when medical marijuana was legalized in CA, someone changed it to Hollyweed. When the pope came, someone else made it Holywood!
| LA! |
| At the Griffith Observatory . . .okay Lost fans . . what does this remind you of?? :) |
And our final stop of the day . . . . .
| Grauman's Chinese Theatre |
Some of the 'entertainment' outside of the theatre . . .
| Capn' Jack |
Bumblebee!
Back from the dead!
Our tour guide informed us that there are 20 blocks of stars and that if you want to find a specific one, the only list has to ordered three weeks in advance from the city of commerce . . . oh well . . . maybe next time! Here are some of the stars I did see.
Unfortunately the only 'live' star I saw today were the Kardashians . . .and I swear I saw Bob Harper running on Sunset Blvd . . . but I could be just seeing things because I'm excited about tomorrow!!
Sounds like you had a great day! I miss lost :(
